Cabinet refacing is a process of updating the look of your kitchen or bathroom cabinets without completely replacing them. Instead of tearing out your existing cabinets and installing new ones, cabinet refacing involves replacing the cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and hardware, while leaving the cabinet boxes and frames intact.

The process typically involves removing the old doors and drawer fronts, cleaning the cabinet boxes and frames, and then applying 1/4” solid wood or edgebanding visible surfaces of the cabinets. The new doors and drawer fronts are then installed, along with new hinge and drawer hardware, giving your cabinets a fresh, updated look and functionality.

Cabinet refacing is often a more affordable and less time-consuming option than full cabinet replacement, and can be a great way to transform the look of your kitchen or bathroom without the cost and hassle of a complete remodel..

Here is how we do it

  1. We remove the old doors, drawer fronts and moldings. These are donated or repurposed when ever possible otherwise they are disposed of properly.

  2. We clean and prep the exterior of your cabinets for the purpose of superior adhesion of new materials.

  3. We do any modifications to the casework. For instance we can often resize for a refrigerator or new ovens and we can add cabinetry to match existing.

  4. We add new panels to exposed ends and toe kicks. These are the same color and specie of the new cabinet door material. The choice is yours to install new panels under your wall cabinets.

  5. We add the appropriate facing materials to the leading edge of your casework.

  6. We install new drawer boxes, pullout shelves, and many convenience hardware. Sometimes these are absolutely necessary but other times they are desired but not needed. We leave that choice up to you.

  7. We install the crown and valance molding if desired and all the trim moldings.

  8. We install the new doors and drawer fronts.

  9. We do any touch up needed.

  10. We clean up. We do this at the end of each day.
